Sterilize Jars

Method 1:

  • Wash glass jars and lids in hot soapy water and rinse.

  • Place in a pot and cover with water. Bring to the boil and boil for 5 minutes.

  • Pre heat oven to 50c and turn off.

  • Place a clean tea towel onto a baking tray, remove jars and lids from water using tongs, then lay the jars down side ways and the lids facing down on the tray.

  • Place in the oven to dry off.





Method 2:

  • Wash glass jars and lids in hot soapy water and rinse.

  • Place jars and lids into the dishwasher and wash.

  • Allow to dry in the dishwasher.





Note:

  • When adding sauces or jams to the jars, make sure your jars aren’t cold otherwise you risk shattering them.

  • If your sauces and jams are hot, your jars also must be hot.
