I have tried making focaccia many times and have failed every time! Except for this time..this focaccia made it! It was beautiful and it's super easy to make, just a little time consuming but let me tell you it is soo worth it!

Ingredients:

A

500g Plain Flour (may need to add more)

10g Salt

B 7g Dry Yeast

325g Warm Water (may need to add more)

10g Honey

Olive Oil

Garlic

Any toppings you like

Method:

  • Mix A till combined.

  • Mix B, cover with gladwrap and allow to sit for 10 minutes.

  • Add B into A, using the dough hook mix till a dough forms. The dough should be super sticky, soft and should resemble the consistency of slime. It should not be extremely wet or dry. It needs to be a wobbly dough. Add more water or flour if need be.

  • Add dough to an oiled bowl, cover with gladwrap, a tea towel, a blanket and allow to rest for 1 and a half hours.

  • After 1 and a half hours, stretch and fold dough onto itself. Imagine it has 4 sides and you’re going to pull those sides out and up onto the dough. Allow to rest for a further hour and a half.

  • Generously oil your pan and place dough in and rub some oil on the top of the dough, press dough into shape, cover and let rest for another hour and a half.

  • Pre heat oven to 210c

  • Divide your dough into 550g portions and add to your pans.

  • Mix some oil and garlic together, make finger indents into the dough and add your garlic oil and any other toppings you like.

  • Bake for 30 minutes or until beautifully golden brown.
