Who doesn't love chocolate? These will be the next scones you'll learn to make.
These chocolate scones have a slightly different texture than the basic scones. They are much more fragile and crumbly, but so delicious.
This recipe will make around 12 scones, again depending on what size cutter you decide to use.

Ingredients:
277g Self Raising Flour
23g Cocoa Powder
40g Caster Sugar
1tsp Salt
125g Unsalted Butter cold
1 Egg
75g Milk
150g Chocolate chips
Egg Wash – for top
Method:
Mix dry ingredients together, then grate in the butter.
Using your hands rub butter and flour together till the mixture is crumbly and just combined.
Create a well, then to the centre add milk and egg, mix together, then start to mix in your flour and knead till a soft dough forms. (make sure not to over knead the dough)
Knead in your chocolate chips, cover the dough and allow the to rest for 30 minutes.
Lightly flour the bench and roll out the dough. Not too thin. Maybe around 2-3cm max. Using the third cookie cutter cut your scones and place onto a lined tray with some space in between each scone.
Brush the tops with egg wash and bake at 180c for 12 minutes. The scones should be lightly golden.
